Alabama tennis team placed four on the All-Gulf South Conference
East tennis team, headlined by First Team selections Nicole
Shanahan and Benny Delgado Rochas. UWA’s Mariana Freitas and
Brittany Williams were tabbed to the league’s Second Team.

the Gulf South Conference Tennis Championship to Delta State,
5-1 and fell by the identical score to Arkansas Tech in the
consolation semifinals.

LeMoyne Owen on Monday to close out the regular season, the
University of West Alabama women’s tennis team will open the
2009 Gulf South Conference Tennis Tournament on Friday, April
17, in Montgomery, Ala.

Tuskegee In Home Finale
The University of West
Alabama tennis team closed out the 2009 home schedule by
sweeping Tuskegee University on Friday. The UWA men blanked TU
9-0, while the Tiger women claimed a 6-1 win.

UWA Tennis Falls To North
Alabama
Both University of West
Alabama tennis teams dropped their final Gulf South Conference
matches to in-state rival North Alabama on Wednesday evening at
the Howard R. Vaughan Tennis Complex on the UWA campus. The
Lions claimed a 5-2 decision over the Tiger men, while UWA’s
women fell 5-3 to UNA.
