Alabama men’s tennis team was ousted in the opening round of the
2009 NCAA Division II Men’s Tennis South Regional by Rollins
College, 5-0, on Thursday. The NCAA event was hosted by Lynn
University.

UWA Tennis Readies For
NCAA South Regional; Faces Rollins In Opener
For the first time in school
history, the University of West Alabama men’s tennis team will
take to the court in an NCAA postseason event on Thursday. The
UWA men will take on Rollins College in the NCAA South Regional,
hosted by Lynn University. Match time is set for 2 p.m. CST.

The University of West Alabama men’s tennis team was selected to
NCAA Division II Tennis Championship, announced Wednesday
evening by the Men’s and Women’s Tennis Committee.

All-GSC East Tennis Squad
The University of West
Alabama tennis team placed four on the All-Gulf South Conference
East tennis team, headlined by First Team selections Nicole
Shanahan and Benny Delgado Rochas. UWA’s Mariana Freitas and
Brittany Williams were tabbed to the league’s Second Team.

Tiger Tennis Sweeps
Tuskegee In Home Finale
The University of West
Alabama tennis team closed out the 2009 home schedule by
sweeping Tuskegee University on Friday. The UWA men blanked TU
9-0, while the Tiger women claimed a 6-1 win.
