Standings
Former University of
West Alabama rodeo standout Chance Smart finished second in the
2008 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s World Standings in
bull riding at the recently completed 2008 Wrangler National
Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nev.

Completes Fall at Murray The University of West Alabama
wranglers took part in two rodeos over the weekend at Murray
State University. The wrangler women finished second in first
rodeo with a fifth place finish in the second rodeo. The UWA men
finished seventh in the opening rodeo and improved their
standing in the second rodeo with a sixth place finish.

UWA Competes at
Troy Rodeo
The University of West Alabama wranglers pulled double duty this
weekend participating in two rodeos on the campus of Troy
University. In the opening rodeo, the UWA men finished seventh
with the women in eighth. In the second rodeo, the women placed
second, as the men came in fourth.

UWA Rodeo; Men Finish Sixth, Women Eighth
The University of West Alabama hosted the 13th
Annual UWA Rodeo this weekend at the Don C. Hines Rodeo Complex
on the Livingston campus. The wrangler men finished sixth, while
the wrangler women finished eighth.

Wranglers Compete
at SAU; Hedrick Wins All-Around Cowgirl Award
The University of West
Alabama wranglers participated in their second rodeo of the
2008-09 season with the UWA women finishing in third place with
280 points and the men finishing in sixth with 200 points.
Lauren Hedrick received the All-Around Cowgirl Award.

wranglers opened the 2008-09 season with the women placing
fourth and the men finishing sixth in the Missouri Valley
College rodeo.

UWA Rodeo Starts
Season At MVC Stampede
The University of West
Alabama rodeo team will open the chutes on the 2008-09 season
this weekend in Marshall, Mo., participating in the Missouri
Valley College Rodeo Stampede. Events will get underway on
Thursday, Sept. 11 and run through Saturday, Sept. 13.
