Head Coach Chad Phipps
Chad Phipps, a
native of Dalton, Ga., was a member of the
University of
Tennessee at Martin rodeo
team, where he was named Team MVP from
2001-2002. While with the Skyhawk Wranglers
he was honored as their most outstanding
student-athlete and received the Superior
Leadership Award.
In 2000, he
was named the Professional Rodeo Cowboys
Association’s Southeastern Circuit Rookie
Bull Rider of the Year and the PRCA’s
Southeastern Circuit Champion Bull Rider in
2001. Phipps also qualified for the Dodge
National Circuit Finals in 2002.
From
2000-2002 Phipps served as the Ozark Region
Bull Riding Director for the
National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association
and the Southeastern Circuit Bull Riding
Director for the PRCA from 2001-2005.
Phipps
served as the assistant coach for UT Martin
during his senior season and has also served
as an instructor for Sankey Rodeo Schools.
Since 2005, Phipps has been a judge for the
Professional Bull Riders and the PRCA.
The UWA
wranglers will open the rodeo season on
Thursday, September 20th at
Missouri Valley College. The event will run
through Saturday, September 22nd. |
