Assistant Coach
David Steed

David Steed returns
for his third season as assistant coach at The
University of West Alabama. His responsibilities
include working with hitters, recruiting, and weight
training.
The Starkville,
Miss.-native comes from Arkansas Tech University where
he was responsible for working with the hitters during
his five years. He coached five All-Region and 13 All-GSC
hitters.
Before becoming a
coach in the collegiate ranks, he played two years at
Meridian Community College where he received
All-American, All-Region and Team MVP honors. He was
also part of the 1st MCC team to make it to
the Junior College World Series, where he was named to
the World Series All Tournament Team.
He left MCC after
being drafted by the Dodgers in the 15th
round. During his nine year professional career, he
played in the Dodgers, Angels and Rangers organizations
with 4 of these years being played at the AAA level.
While at UWA, he has
coached seven All-GSC hitters, one All-American and
three All-South Central Regional Players. In 2008, the
Tigers set a new GSC record by having 12 players on the
All-GSC team.
David is married to the former
Lynda Hill from North Little Rock, Ark. and they have an
eight year old daughter name Cameron.

Michael Jones

Michael Jones enters his third season on
the Tiger coaching staff.
In two seasons in charge of the Tiger
hurlers, UWA has finished in the top three of the
conference in lowest ERA. Last season, UWA posted a 3.72
ERA, the lowest in the conference, with a .261 opponent
batting average. In 2007 with the Red and White, Tiger
hurlers posted a 3.51 ERA for the season, which stood as
third best in the Gulf South Conference, while boasting
the second best opponent batting average at .248.
Jones, a graduate of the University of
New Orleans, served as team captain for two years at UNO
and led the team in innings pitched both seasons. Jones
transferred from Holmes Community College where he was
selected First-Team All-Region All-State both years.
A native of Weir, Miss., Jones joins the
Tigers staff as the pitching coach after a brief career
in the Chicago Cubs Organization, before being
permanently sidelined with an arm injury.
Jones is married to the former Amy Head of
Shelbyville, Ky.

Assistant Coach
Adam Hall
Adam
Hall enters his first season on the Tiger coaching
staff.
Hall, a graduate of Tusculum College, helped lead the
Pioneers to two South Atlantic Conference Championships,
along with a South Atlantic Conference Tournament
Championship in 2005. Tusculum’s 2005 team also
advanced to the NCAA Division II South Regional, where
they fell one game short of the College World Series.
Hall, a native of Nashville, Tenn., joins the Tiger
coaching staff as a graduate assistant. In 2004, Hall
served as the pitching coach for American Legion Post
17. The 2004 squad posted a 42-8 mark, while capturing
the Tennessee American Legion State Championship. In
2005, Hall served as pitching coach for the Worth
Copperheads of the National Amateur Baseball
Federation. Hall has also served as pitching coach for
the Medicine Hat Mavericks of the Western Major Baseball
League.
Hall currently resides in Livingston, Ala.

Will Hulsey

Will Hulsey became part of the UWA
coaching staff in the spring of 2008, from Middle
Tennessee State University.
Will began his playing career at
Enterprise-Ozark Community College for his father Tim
Hulsey. After leaving Enterprise, Will went to Middle
Tennessee State University to finish out his playing
career. In 2007 Will was the Undergrad Asst for Coach
Steve Peterson at Middle Tennessee.
Will is in charge of the infielders
and assist with all aspects of recruiting.

Keith Glasser
Keith
Glasser enters his first season at West Alabama. Glasser
will coach the outfield and assist with the UWA hitters.
Glasser is a graduate of Marist College, where he played
for the Red Foxes under the guidance of Dennis Healy.
While at MC, he helped the Red Foxes to the MAAC title
in 2005 and was a four-year letterwinner at catcher and
team captain his senior season.
Glasser played two season in the New York Collegiate
League, playing in 2005 with the Saratoga Phillies and
the Amsterdam Mohawks in 2007.
The East Greenbush, N.Y.-native helped the McLean
Raiders of the Clark Griffith League to a third place
finish and second place finish in the AAABA National
Tournament. Glasser graduated from Columbia High School. |
