MEMPHIS,
Tenn. – The University of West Alabama cross
country team participated in the 2007 Brooks
Memphis Twilight Classic over the weekend, that
hosted 750 collegiate runners
at the Mike Rose
Soccer Complex in East Memphis.
The UWA men finished
the race in 32nd place, led by Austin
Enriquez with a time of 26:45.94, while the
Tiger women finished in 37th led by
Amanda Fuentes in a time of 21:01.80.
On the men’s side,
Jonathan Sellers came in 139th place
with a time of 27:19.26 with Ross Daniels
running a time of 28:25.84 in 197th.
Corey Rigdon finished in 226th place
with a time of 28:56.73 while Jeremy Wilson
finished the race in a time of 29:28.69 in 250th.
Also competing for UWA were Craig Warlick (275th)
with a time of 30:19.45, Daniel Delgado (287th)
in a time of 30:33.68 and Spencer Gray (291st)
with a time of 30:42.43.
On the women’s side,
Tristan Smith finished in 256th with
a time of 23:38.27 with Reshai Reeves three
spots back in 23:46.28. Libba McClendon finished
in 307th with a time of 26:39.57, as
Irene Ngeno rounded out the women harriers in
327th with a time of 32:18.28.
The Tigers will
return to action on Saturday, October 20th
in the Gulf South Conference Championships in
Hoover, Alabama’s Veteran's Park.
