MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of West Alabama women’s tennis team downed in-state and Gulf South Conference Eastern Division rival Montevallo, 9-0, at the UM Varsity Courts.

UWA picked up two double wins as the team of Adanys Clerch and Amy Cole defeated Shasta Brown and Marie Chaisson 8-5, while the Tiger duo of Amy Frazier and Rama Siby shutout Terrlisa Abdool and Ansley White 8-0.

Clerch, Cole, Frazier and Siby each earned singles wins as well. Clerch defeated Brown 2-6, 7-5 and 10-5 for the win at the #1 singles. Cole dropped Chaisson 6-4, 6-2, as Frazier picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win over Abdool. Siby finished off with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over White.
