The
University of West Alabama
volleyball team closed out
its weekend in the state of
Arkansas with a perfect 3-0
mark after sweeping Ouachita
Baptist on Saturday. The
Tigers continue to roll, as
it was their 15th-straight
win and ninth 3-0 sweep
within the streak.
The Red
and White downed the Tigers
of OBU, 25-17, 25-18 and
25-12.
UWA
(24-5) toppled Arkansas Tech
and Henderson State on
Friday on the HSU campus.
The trio of wins over the
in-region foes bumps UWA’s
mark within the region to
16-5.
For the
second-straight match,
senior Jessica Crook posted
a match-high 14 kills. Crook
has now posted double figure
kills in 10 of her last 12
matches. Senior Jordan Kent
registered eight kills along
with a pair of block solos.
Seniors Ana Gabriela Pedrosa
and Brittney Cousin finished
with seven kills each.
Sophomore setter Alexis
McHale dished out 40
assists. Defensively, Thais
Hollerbach turned in 15 digs
and Chanelle Esteban tallied
13 digs.
The
Tigers return to action on
Tuesday, Oct. 20 against
Stillman College. UWA
blanked the Blue and Gold
Tigers in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
on Sept. 1. Match time is
set for 6:30 p.m. at Pruitt
Hall.
