MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Both West Alabama tennis teams fell in the quarterfinal round of the 2008 Gulf South Conference Tennis Championships held at Lagoon Park/O’Conner Tennis Center.

The Tiger men dropped a 5-0 decision to Ouachita Baptist, the top-seed from the GSC West.  UWA rebounded in the consolation semifinals with a 5-4 win over Harding.  On the women’s side, the Red and White dropped the opening match to the top-seeded Delta State women 5-0 and fell to Henderson State in the consolation match.

UWA finishes the season with a 15-12 mark on the women’s side and 13-12 record for the Tiger men.  The women were making their first appearance in the GSC Championships in the program’s history.
