LIVINGSTON, Ala. —
The West Alabama women’s tennis team dropped
a 7-2 decision to NCAA Division I foe
Stephan F. Austin on Monday at the Howard R.
Vaughan Tennis Complex on the UWA campus.
UWA, now 8-4 on the
season, posted wins at the No. 1 and No. 2
positions in singles play. Nicole Shanahan
topped Roxanna Enica 6-3, 6-0 on court No.
1. Mariana Freitas turned back SFA’s Mary
Harrison 6-3, 7-5 on court 2. The Ladyjacks
swept the Tigers in doubles and clinched the
win in singles play.
UWA’s scheduled match
with Mississippi College on Tuesday, March
11, has been re-scheduled for April 2 on the
UWA campus.
