ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The
University of West Alabama men’s tennis team
fell Saturday in the Gulf South Conference
Tournament 5-0 to No. 12 Ouachita Baptist
and Harding, 5-3 at Henderson State
University.
Against
Ouachita Baptist, the team of Mylan Anderson
and Sascha Dresselhaus lost their doubles
match, 8-1, to Ondrei Vana and Jakub Smid.
Denton Meinjes and Brandon Harris fell to
Tye Myers and Isaac Anders, 8-2 and in the
third doubles match, Carlin Tighe and
Michael Garcia lost to Vasek Styerka and
Juan Costa, 8-1.
In singles
action, Meintjes lost to Myers at No. 2,
6-2, 6-1 and at No. 3, Anderson fell to
Vagen Akapian, 6-2, 6-0.
Against
Harding, the Tigers (8-10) got a doubles win
from Dresselhaus and Anderson (No. 1) and
singles wins by Dresselhaus (No. 1) and
Anderson (No. 3).
Harding
won the match by winning at No. 2 and No. 3
doubles and taking No. 2, No. 4 and No. 6
singles.
