PENSACOLA, Fla. - The
University of West Alabama men’s tennis team
fell to No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic State
University Saturday afternoon, 8-0 at the
Ralph “Skeeter” Carson Tennis Complex on the
campus of the University of West Florida.
“Sascha (Dresselhaus)
had a match point for the No. 1 singles, but
the rain came and we had to stop,” Tigers
coach Rod Hartzog said. ‘The Armstrong team
is very good, so it would have been great to
have won a point.”
Late
Friday night, the Tiger men’s and women’s
teams faced off against Delta State, with
the men falling to No. 17 Statesmen, 5-0,
while the women lost 8-1.
Adanys
Clerch won her match with a score of 7-6,
6-2 at No. 1 singles, but Amanda Morgan,
playing No. 6 singles, lost 7-6, 6-1 in a
hard-fought contest.
Both teams
return to action Wednesday, April 4 at the
Howard R. Vaughan Tennis Complex with
matches against Mississippi College.
