LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West
Alabama Athletic Department has announced a partnership with Gospel Hits
Y-104.9 WSLY for the upcoming athletic season.
A 50,000 watt station, Y-104.9 reaches UWA and
surrounding areas, including western Alabama and eastern Mississippi.
“We are very excited about our new affiliation with
Gospel Hits Y-104.9 FM”, Director of Athletics E. J. Brophy said. “They have
a very strong station and are located right here in our own backyard. They
do a super job of broadcasting gospel music throughout our region and have a
sincere affection for our university. I hope all Tiger fans will program
their radios to station 104.9.”
Ken Michaels, the operations manager for Y-104.9,
echoed Brophy’s comments.
“Gospel Hits Y-104 and the All New 104.9-SLY is
extremely pleased and honored to partner with the University of West Alabama
in providing our communities with exciting sports action this season.”
UWA athletic broadcasts will also be carried on the
internet at athletics.uwa.edu and at
www.y1049.com. The Tigers first broadcast on Y-104.9 will be the
football season opener at Samford University on Thursday, August 30 at 7:00
p.m.
