LIVINGSTON, Ala. – University of West Alabama
Director of Athletics, E.J. Brophy, has announced March 17th as
Super Tiger Day on the UWA campus.
Five Tiger athletic
teams will be
competing that day, including four Gulf South Conference games on the
diamond.
“We want to invite all of
our great Tiger fans to join us on Super Tiger Day here at UWA,” Brophy
said. “We hope to make this an annual event where people of all ages who
love our university can come and cheer for our teams while visiting with one
another. I hope it will eventually grow into a mini-homecoming in years to
come.”
The day will begin at 11:00
a.m. with the UWA men’s and women’s tennis teams competing against
Transylvania University at the Howard R. Vaughan Tennis Complex. At
the newly renovated UWA Softball Complex,
the Tigers will host the University of Alabama in Huntsville in a
1:00 p.m. doubleheader.
The UWA Baseball team will also be in action against
UAH, as the Tigers host the Chargers in a doubleheader beginning at 4:00
p.m.
Tiger fans will also be able to take in
the 2007 Spring Football game under the
lights at Tiger Stadium, with the scrimmage
scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
