LIVINGSTON, Ala. –
The University of West Alabama Assistant Sports
Information Director Brian Howard announced his resignation effective July
31, and will become the new Sports Information Director at Ouachita Baptist
University in Arkadelphia, Ark.
Howard has held the role of
Assistant SID at West Alabama for a year and a half and served as primary
contact for volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball.
“First of all, I want to
thank the entire athletic department here at West Alabama, as well as the
entire campus community for the opportunity they have given me to publicize
Tiger athletics,” Howard said. “West Alabama was my first collegiate job and
I will always hold a special spot in my heart. The coaches and staff here
are tremendous and I will miss working with each of them. At the same time,
I am extremely excited to begin a new challenge.”
Prior to coming to UWA, Howard spent six years in the
newspaper business, starting in El Dorado, Ark., before moving to Keyser,
W.Va. He also worked at newspapers in South Carolina and Georgia, before
coming to West Alabama.
"I would like to thank Brian for all he has done for me
and the university in his time at UWA," Sports Information Director Kyle
Lewis said. "He has been a valuable asset to Tiger athletics and will be
sorely missed."
