LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West
Alabama Department of Athletics has announced
that the 2009 Gulf South Conference Softball
Tournament will be broadcasted on WZNJ 106.5 FM
and streamed on the internet at
athletics.uwa.edu.
The Tigers,
who clinched their first GSC post season berth
since 1997, will open the eight-team event on
Friday, May 1, against GSC West Champion
Arkansas Tech. First pitch is set for 9:30
a.m. The 2009 edition of the tournament marks
the fourth year that the event has taken place
in Southaven, Miss. The Voice of the Tigers,
Jason Gardner, will describe all the UWA action
from Greenbrook Softball Complex.
With UWA’s
GSC East Division Champion baseball squad
beginning the GSC Baseball Tournament on
Saturday, May 2, in Millington, Tenn., some
softball broadcasts will be internet only and
can be accessed by logging on to
www.MyWin98.com and clicking on the UWA
Baseball logo.
The GSC
will be providing broadband video streaming of
selected games of the three-day event. There
will be a minimal charge for the video feed.
