Tracey Dahlen Named
Assistant Softball Coach
The University of West
Alabama Department of Athletics has announced the hiring of
Tracey Dahlen as Assistant Softball Coach, effective October 1,
2008. She replaces Paige Jones, who took a similar position at
Florida Gulf Coast University. Dahlen, a native of
Pasadena, Md., comes to UWA after closing out her
intercollegiate playing career at Elon University in Elon, N.C. More

To Host Camp
The University of West
Alabama will host a fastpitch softball camp on June 16-19 at the
UWA Softball Complex for girls ages 5-18. UWA head coach Will
Atkinson and his staff will direct the camp on the Livingston
campus. More

Places Seven On All-GSC East Teams
The University of West Alabama softball team was well
represented on the 2008 All-Gulf South Conference Softball East
Division Team, placing three on the All-GSC First Team and four
on the Second Team. More

Emily White Tabbed GSC East Pitcher Of The Week
For the second straight week, a University of West Alabama
pitcher has been awarded the Gulf South Conference East Division
Pitcher of the Week award. Junior Emily White earned the award
for her efforts in the final week of the regular season. More

UWA Knocks Off No. 2 UAH
The
University of West Alabama softball team closed out the 2008
campaign knocking off 2nd-ranked University of
Alabama in Huntsville, 6-5 with a seventh inning comeback by the
Tigers. The second game of the twinbill was canceled in the
second inning by rain showers in Livingston with UAH leading
5-2. More

UNA Tops Tigers 3-1;
Rain Washes Out Game Two
The University of West Alabama softball team dropped the opening
game of the doubleheader with in-state foe North Alabama 3-1,
but the rains came after four innings of play in the night cap
and the contest was canceled with UNA leading 10-3. The Tigers
will close out the season on Sunday with a duel with 2nd-ranked
Alabama in Huntsville at 3 p.m.
