Wranglers Host UWA Rodeo Showdown

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama wranglers will host the UWA Rodeo Showdown Thursday, Oct. 22 through Saturday, Oct. 24 at the UWA Don C. Hines Rodeo Complex on the UWA campus. Events start at 7:30 p.m. every night. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children six years of age and under.

Over 200 participants from across the Ozark Region are scheduled to take part in the Rodeo Showdown this weekend in Livingston, Ala.

“We are excited to host our rodeo this weekend,” UWA Head Coach Chad Phipps said. “It will be nice to be in front of our home fans and supporters. Hopefully that will lift us up and get us back on track in the region. We’ve had some bad luck the past two rodeos and really need to get back into the swing of things this weekend.”

The UWA men are ranked third currently in the region with 1,020 points and are led by Justin Caylor, who is 15th nationally and second in the Ozark Region in saddle bronc riding. Kaitlin St. Clair leads the UWA women, who are ranked seventh in the region with 185 total points. St. Clair is third in the region in barrel racing.
