MARTIN, Tenn. –
The University of West Alabama wranglers
competed in the 40th University of Tennessee
at Martin spring college rodeo this weekend
at the Ned Ray McWherter Agricultural
Complex with the men finishing sixth.
Daniel Poole led the way for the men,
winning the bull riding competition with 170
points. On the women’s side, Jessica
Robinson gathered 45 points in the barrel
racing.
“Daniel had an exceptional weekend in the
bull riding and has matured in his riding
100-percent in the last month,” UWA head
coach Chad Phipps said. “He has a great shot
of jumping up in the standings and making
the finals. Jessica also had a nice weekend
on the women’s side.”
The UWA wranglers return to action on
Thursday, April 17, as they take part in the
three-day Northwest Mississippi Community
College rodeo at the Multipurpose Livestock
Arena. The event concludes on Saturday,
April 19.
