LIVINGSTON, Ala. –
The
University of West Alabama has announced the
resignation of rodeo coach Jayson Schoenfeld effective
July 31, 2007.
Schoenfeld, who has served
as the coach of the UWA Wranglers for nine years and led the men’s
and women’s teams to the College National Finals, will be the Southeastern
Sales Representative for Powder River Livestock Equipment.
“We greatly appreciate and
thank Jayson for the efforts and guidance that he has given to the rodeo
program in his years at UWA,” Brophy said. “We would like to wish he and his
family the best of luck in their future endeavors.”
Under Schoenfeld’s guidance the women's team has won two Ozark Region
titles while the men have finished as Region runner-up during his time in
Livingston.
“I would like to thank the University of West Alabama, President Richard
Holland, Director of Athletics E. J. Brophy and the Tiger family for all they have done for me and
my family,” Schoenfeld said. “It has been a great honor to be the rodeo
coach here and I wish it future success.”
