MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The University of West Alabama wranglers participated in their second rodeo of the 2008-09 season with the UWA women finishing in third place with 280 points and the men finishing in sixth with 200 points. Lauren Hedrick received the All-Around Cowgirl Award.

Hedrick placed third in the breakaway roping and goat tying events and finished first in the long round in team roping. Jessica Robinson finished seventh in barrel racing. Justin Caylor finished second in saddle bronc riding, while Jerritt Varner finished third in the team roping.

The West Alabama wranglers return to action on Thursday, Oct. 9, as they host the UWA Rodeo at the Don C. Hines Rodeo Complex in Livingston, Ala. The event will conclude on Saturday, Oct. 11. For more information, contact Chad Phipps at (205) 652-3695.
