CASPER, Wyo. --
Members of
the University of West Alabama rodeo team
competed in the College National Rodeo Finals at
the Casper Events Center in Casper, Wyoming June
10 through June 16.
“I thought
we competed well,” Tigers coach Jayson
Schoenfeld said. “We ran into a little tough
luck, but overall I was proud of the way we
competed.”
Senior Todd
Bledsoe finished 11th in bareback
riding to lead the Tiger men, who finished third
in the Ozark Region standings. Seniors Joshua
Napp and Tyler Pearson competed in steer
wrestling, with Pearson taking 17th
and Napp finishing 21st. Senior
Brandon Reynolds participated in bull riding.
Sophomore
Casey Chapman and senior Kelly Lacey placed 25th
and 39th respectively in barrel
racing to pace the West Alabama women, who
placed second in the Ozark Region standings.
Sophomore Lauren Hedrick was 41st in
goat tying and 43rd in the
breakaway-roping event. Junior Natasha Parker
rounded out the Tiger women by finishing 36th
in breakaway roping. |
