Don Page
Football/Baseball
(1966-1971)
Don Page played both football
(’66-’69) and baseball (’67-’70) for West Alabama. During his
career, Page passed for 2,740 yards and 31 touchdowns, while
accumulating 3,563 total yards. He helped in leading the 1968
football team to a 9-1 record. In 1970, he batted .331 leading
UWA to a fourth-place finish in the NAIA World Series.

M.K. Turk
Basketball
(1962-1964)
M.K. Turk
played basketball at West Alabama from 1962-64. Turk led
Livingston in scoring his junior and senior seasons, and was
also named All-Conference twice. After serving as an assistant
basketball coach for the Tigers under Jack Powell, Turk served
as head coach at Copiah-Lincoln Junior College in Wesson, Miss.
He led Copiah-Lincoln to the Mississippi Junior College
Championships in 1973 and 1974, while being tabbed Region VII
Junior College “Coach of the Year” in 1974. He then was an
assistant basketball coach at Memphis State University for two
seasons before being named University of Southern Mississippi’s
head coach in 1976.
