Tigers prepare for annual Red and White Game

LIVINGSTON, AL—The West Alabama football team concludes its spring season at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Tiger Stadium in the annual Red and White game, ending three weeks of tough practices under first-year head coach Bobby Wallace.

"The goal is to run 100 plays with the ball starting on the 35-yard line," Wallace said. "There won't be a running clock, but we might take a break after 50 plays."

The format for this year's spring game will be as follows, with a punting drill beginning around 6:20 p.m. The scrimmage should start at approximately 6:30 or 6:35 and will match offense against defense. The idea is for the offense to drive the field and score against the defense.

"There will be a point system for the defense as well," Wallace said. "The defense will get one point for every time they stop the offense and two for when the offense goes three-plays and out. The defense will also get six points when forcing a turnover and can receive the same amount for a score."

West Alabama opens the regular season with a home game at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2006 against Concordia.
