LIVINGSTON,
Ala. –
University of
West Alabama senior men’s basketball player
Joe Eatmon was selected as a recipient of
the NCAA Ethnic Minority Enhancement Program
Postgraduate Scholarship for Careers in
Athletics.
“It’s a
great honor to be selected to receive this
scholarship,” Eatmon, who is majoring in
Physical Education/Sports Management, said.
“I have enjoyed my time and career at UWA.
It’s nice that not only can I compete on the
hardwood, but also in the classroom.”
As a
recipient of the scholarship, Eatmon will
receive a $6,000 nonrenewable award to be
used during the 2007-08 academic year. The
award goes to an individual who is in a
sports-related program as a full-time
student, as defined by the postgraduate
institution.
In his
final year at West Alabama, Eatmon played in
27 games, averaging eight points and 1.3
rebounds per contest. He also logged 21.5
minutes per game.
