LIVINGSTON,
Ala. -- Abdoulaye N’Diaye posted his first
career double-double to lead the University of
West Alabama men’s basketball team to a 71-49
victory of Concordia College Wednesday evening
at Pruitt Hall.
N’Diaye posted
12 points and 11 rebounds on the night for the
Tigers (9-12, 2-4 GSC). Stan Gill supplied 16
points, as Raymond Shaw chipped in 11 points.
Concordia’s
Rodrice Griffin posted a double-double with 12
points and 11 rebounds to lead the Hornets.
CC would open
the second half on a 7-1 run and led by as many
as five minutes, 39-34, with 12:52 remaining in
the game.
UWA would
regain the lead on a layup from Shaw at the 9:18
mark.
The Tigers
would never trail again in the contest, reaching
its largest lead of the game, 22 points, on a
trey from Jay Hembree with one minute remaining
in the contest.
UWA, which led
much of the first half, opened the first half on
17-7 run capped off by a jumper from N’Diaye.
Concordia
would answer with a 17-8 run and cut the Tiger
lead to one point on a jumper from Demaris
Killow. The Hornets would take their first lead
of the game on a pair of free throws from
Tristan Cherry.
The Tigers
would regain the lead and head into the
intermission with a 27-26 lead on two free
throws from N’Diaye.
West Alabama
returns to action, Tuesday, February 6th,
when the Tigers host GSC, Eastern Division foe
West Georgia. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. |
