LIVINGSTON,
Ala. – The University of West
Alabama’s basketball teams hit the road for the
final two times this season, first traveling to
Valdosta, Ga., on Saturday, Feb. 17 and then to
Pensacola, Fla. Monday, Feb. 19.
The Tiger
women, ranked No. 7 in the latest NCAA Division
II South Regional, come into this weekend’s
action having won their last game, a 93-61 rout
of UAH last Monday. Jessica Thompson scored a
career-high 23 points in the victory, while
Wennica Foster added 15. Brandi Humphrey and
Jamie Walker chipped in 10 points, while Ashton
Washington pulled down 11 of the Tigers’ 51
rebounds.
Before last
weekend’s trip to Florence and Huntsville, the
West Alabama men’s team had won four out of its
last five. Since that trip, the Tigers are 0-2,
with losses at North Alabama and UAH. Against
the Chargers, West Alabama trailed 44-33 at the
break and were outscored 49-46 in the second
half. Joe Eatmon came off the bench to pace the
Tigers with 20 points. Stan Gill had 17, while
Raymond Shaw finished with his sixth
double-double of the season, 16 points and 10
rebounds.
After
Saturday’s trip to Valdosta, Ga., the Tigers
travel to Pensacola, Fla., to take on West
Florida Monday, Feb. 19.

Lady Blazers is set for 1:00 p.m. with the men’s
game to follow at 3:00 p.m. and can be heard on
