LIVINGSTON, Ala. —The
University of West Alabama men’s
basketball team will host Southern
Arkansas University on Wednesday, Dec.
5, to begin a two-game home stand that
will close the Tigers home activity
prior to the Christmas holiday break.
Tip off is set for 6 p.m. at Pruitt
Hall.
The match up against
the Muleriders of SAU will be the second
between the two Gulf South Conference
schools in a span of eight days. SAU
claimed an 83-49 decision on its home
floor against UWA on Nov. 24. SAU’s
Mori Turpin led all scorers with 17
points in the contest. The Red and
White were led by Maurice Naylor with 14
points, while Abdoulaye N’diaye posted a
season-best 13 points.
The Tigers are coming
off a 67-65 win over Lynn University in
the final game of the Flagler
Construction Equipment Classic, hosted
by Valdosta State University. UWA was
led by junior transfer Bobby Clark in
the two games at the tournament. Clark,
a native of Jackson, Miss. and a product
of Iowa Western Community College,
scored in double figures in both
contests against Eckerd and LU. Junior
Brian Murphy is averaging 13.4 points
per contest along with Naylor’s 10.3
scoring clip.
Following the SAU
encounter, the Tigers will tangle with
Southeastern Bible College out of
Birmingham, Ala. on Friday, Dec. 7. Tip
off is slated for 6 p.m.
