BIRMINGHAM,
Ala. —
The University of West Alabama senior men's
basketball player Raymond Shaw was selected the
Gulf South Conference Eastern Division Player of
the Week Wednesday.
Shaw,
a native of Little Rock, Ark., won the award for
the first time after averaging 20.0 points, 9.5
rebounds and 3.5 assists in the Tigers’ 1-1
week. He also averaged 39.0 minutes of action,
shooting 58.3 percent from the field.
The senior led
West Alabama to an 81-58 home win over in-region
foe Clark Atlanta, recording his fourth
double-double of the season, pouring in a
career-high 27 points behind a 10-of-11 effort
from the floor, while also grabbing 10 rebounds
and dishing out four assists. Shaw finished the
week netting 13 points, while adding nine
rebounds and three assists in a 75-68 overtime
home loss to Delta State.
The Tigers
take Christmas break off and will return to
action on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at Delta State. |
