LIVINGSTON, Ala. —Riding a
two-game winning streak, the University
of West Alabama men’s basketball squad
will close out the non-conference docket
on Wednesday, hosting Concordia-Selma at
6 p.m. at Pruitt Hall.
The Tigers cruised to their second win
in as many outings with a 94-68 decision
over Wesley College on Monday night.
UWA registered five players in double
figures with juniors Glenn Miles, Kevin
Johnson and Brian Murphy sharing
game-high scoring honors with 16 points
apiece. Miles turned in a double-double
with 10 rebounds and was credited with
four assists. Michael Billings and
Maurice Naylor chipped in 14 and 10
points respectively.
Wednesday’s tilt with in-state foe
Concordia will be the fifth meeting
between the two schools with UWA
claiming three of the four previous
contests. Last year, the Red and White
claimed a 71-49 victory over the
Hornets.
UWA returns to Gulf
South Conference action on Monday, Feb.
11, with a rematch with North Alabama.
UNA topped the Tigers 87-66 earlier this
season on the Lions home floor. Tip off
is set for 7:30 p.m. at Pruitt Hall.
