LIVINGSTON, Ala. –
The University of West Alabama
football team returns to action on
Saturday, Oct. 3 as UWA (3-2) hosts
Lambuth in non-conference play.
Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. The
game will be aired on FOX Sports,
WSLY 104.9-FM and at
athletics.uwa.edu. UWA will also
provide a live video stream at
athletics.uwa.edu courtesy of the B2
Network.
This is the 3rd
meeting in the series between West
Alabama and Lambuth (4-0). The
Tigers lead the series 2-0,
including a 45-13 win in 2006. This
is the youngest series on the UWA
schedule this season. The Red and
White have outscored LU 82-13 in the
series that dates back to 2005. The
Tigers have won in Livingston and in
Jackson, Tenn.
UWA enters the
contest looking to snap a two-game
losing streak and improve its home
record to 3-0 on the season. The
Tigers have been outscored 73-36 in
its last two outings. UWA head coach
Bobby Wallace, who is 1-0 vs.
Lambuth, seeks his 97th win at a
Gulf South Conference school. UWA
running back Roosevelt Ross led the
UWA offense in the setback at
Valdosta State. Ross became the
first Tiger rusher to reach the
century mark with 102 yards and the
only UWA score.
Lambuth waltzes
into Livingston ranked seventh in
NAIA Football Top 25 Coaches’ Poll.
The Eagles are 22nd in NAIA in total
offense and 11th in scoring offense.
LU defeated UVA-Wise 60-20 in its
last affair. Adam Wiese paced the
Eagle offense with 440 yards through
the air and six touchdowns while
completing 76-percent of his passes.
West Alabama
returns to conference play on
Saturday, Oct. 10 as the Tigers host
#25 Delta State. Kickoff against the
Statesmen is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
