TUSCALOOSA,
Ala. – The University of West Alabama men’s
and women’s cross country team took part in the
19th running of the Crimson Classic
Invitational on the Harry Pritchard Running
Course. The UWA men were led by Jonathan
Sellers, in 47th, with a time of
27:47.84, as the Tiger women were paced by
Amanda Fuentes with a time of 21:09.55 in 57th.
The UWA men
finished in ninth place at the event, defeating
in-state foe North Alabama, which was the only
other NCAA Division II in the meet, in 11th
place. Jeremy Wilson finished in 58th
place (28:40.00) followed by Austin Enriquez
(28:42.85) in 59th. Daniel Ross
posted a time of 29:33.61 in 64th,
while Spencer Gray ran a time of 31:00.27 for 76th
place. Rounding out the Tiger men were Deivid
Delgado in 83rd (32:59.70) and Craig
Warlick in 85th (33:46.36).
Three UWA
women joined Fuentes in the meet with ReShai
Reeves running a time of 25:32.49 (89th
place), Libba McClendon (29:02.32) in 94th
and Irene Ngeno in 95th with a time
of 32:01.30.
The Tiger
runners will return to action on Saturday,
September 22nd, as they run in the Mississippi
State Cross Country Invitational.
