LIVIGSTON, Ala. – The
University of West Alabama head
women’s basketball coach Amanda
Marks announces the signing of
Kiara Parker, Melissa Little and
Courtney McDonald during the
November signing period.
“We are
looking forward to having these
young ladies here next year,”
Marks said of the early signees.
“They come from quality high
school programs and will be
welcomed additions to our
program here at West Alabama.”
Parker is a
5’6 guard from Fort Walton Beach
(Fla.) High School, where she
prepped under Holly McDaniel.
She was a First Team All-Area
selection. She averaged nine
points with three assists and
two steals in her junior season,
while pulling down six boards a
game.
Little and
McDonald each make their way to
Livingston from Sprayberry High
School in
Marietta, Ga., where the duo
helped the Yellow Jackets to a
21-8 record their junior season
and were participants in the
State Basketball Tournament
under Mark Giles.
Little is a 6’0 center,
averaging eight points and six
rebounds per contest, while
dishing out two assists. She
played for the AAU/YBOA Georgia
Hoopstars White. McDonald is
6’0, guard/forward. She was
named an All-Region Honorable
Mention, where she averaged
eight points and 4.5 rebounds a
contest. Also a member of the
AAU/YBOA Georgia Hoopstars White
and was named to the 2007 USA
Junior National Team.
