LIVINGSTON, Ala. –
The University of West Alabama
women’s basketball team
earned its fourth win of the
season, as the Tigers outscored
Arkansas-Monticello, 86-68.
Four UWA players posted double
digit point totals on the night,
as Ashton Washington led the
charge with 12 points. Brandi
Humphrey, Wennica Foster and
Natonya McWilliams all posted 10
points on the night. Irimar
Hernandez lead the Tigers on the
board with seven rebounds.
UAM was led by Almeli da Silva,
who posted a game-high 15 points
on the night. Shenai Limbrick
added 14, Sherelle Shipp
supplied 13, as Addie Lees
chimed in 11 points.
UWA, who claimed its first lead
of the game on a three-point
play from Humphrey midway
through the first half, never
trailed in second half. The
Tiger reached their largest lead
of the game, 30, with 3:13
remaining on an old fashioned
three-point conversation from
Amber Walker.
The Tigers forced 22 Cotton
Blossom turnovers and we able to
post 30 points on the night. UWA
also used the paint, as the
Tigers outscored UAM 43-28.
UWA finished the night shooting
50-percent or better in each
phase of the game. The Tigers
shot just under 57 from the
field, 53-percent from behind
the arc and 50-percent from the
charity stripe.
West Alabama returns to action
on Monday, Dec. 4, as the Tigers
play host to Southern Arkansas.
