LIVINGSTON,
Ala. -- The
University of West Alabama women’s basketball
team was voted seventh in the latest edition
NCAA Division II South Regional Poll.
After going 1-1 on
the week, UWA (17-7, 5-4 Gulf South Conference)
dropped back one spot in the fourth poll of the
season.
Five schools from
Gulf South Conference join the Tigers in the
poll. Delta State, the highest ranked from the
GSC, is No. 2, followed by Arkansas Tech in
fourth and Valdosta State in fifth. Harding is
ranked sixth and newcomer, Southern Arkansas
rounds out the conference schools in 10th.
Florida Gulf Coast,
with an overall record of 22-0, was voted the
top team in the region joined by Florida Tech in
third, Tampa in eighth and Rollins is ninth.
The Tigers, who have
won five of their last six contests, look to
pick up their third win on the road and second
straight, when they travel to Valdosta State
this weekend. The game is the third straight
away from Pruitt Hall for UWA.

Lady Blazers is set for 1:00 p.m. and can be
