LIVINGSTON,
Ala. – The University of West Alabama
women’s basketball team looks to extend its home
win streak to six games, as the Tigers (1-3)
host Arkansas Tech in a 2 p.m. contest on
Saturday, December 1st at Pruitt Hall.
The outing begins a
three-game home-stand for UWA that concludes
against Georgia Southwestern on Wednesday,
December 12th and also features a re-match
against Martin Methodist on Saturday, December
8th. The Red and White look to rebound
from a narrow 61-59 setback at Martin Methodist
this past Tuesday.
UWA is led by Jessica Thompson and Ashton
Washington. The duo leads the Tigers in points
per game, with Thompson supplying 17 points and
Washington, who paces UWA with 7.5 rebounds an
outing, chimes in 16.3 points a contest. Fellow
senior Irimar Hernandez is the only other Tiger
averaging double figures in scoring with 11
points a contest.
Saturday’s contest will mark the fourth meeting
between the Golden Suns and West Alabama with
ATU winning all three prior contests. This marks
the first contest since the 1999-2000 season at
Pruitt Hall. The remaining two outings have come
in the Gulf South Conference Tournament,
including last season’s 65-55 finale for the
Tigers. |
