Tigers Return to National Polls

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – After a hiatus from the national collegiate baseball polls, the University of West Alabama breaks back into the national spotlight after going 4-0 on the week with a neutral site, midweek win over Delta State and then a sweep of Montevallo over the weekend. UWA (20-8, 5-0 GSC) is 20th in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Poll and 16th in the Ping! Baseball Poll.

The Tigers are currently riding a nine-game win streak dating back to the 9-7 win at the University of Arkansas at Monticello on March 8. During the win streak, UWA has outscored its opponents 93-45 and have picked up seven region wins.

Southern Arkansas is the top GSC school in each poll. The Muleriders (24-7) are the nation’s leader in the PING! Poll and are fifth in the CBN. North Alabama and DSU are also among the GSC members represented in both polls.

West Alabama returns to the diamond on Wednesday, March 25, as the Tigers host Auburn Montgomery at 4:00 p.m. Live stats will be available at athletics.uwa.edu.
