OMAHA, Neb. – The University of West
Alabama baseball team dropped five spots
in the latest PING! Baseball Top 30
rankings, falling to 10th
after a 1-3 record this past weekend.
The
Tigers split the weekend with top-ranked
Tampa and were swept by then ranked #10
Southern Arkansas.
SAU
took over the top spot, replacing the
Spartans, who tumbled to No. 5 in this
week’s poll. Gulf South Conference West
Division member Ouachita Baptist, a UWA
opponent this weekend, is currently
second. Central Missouri is third with
Sonoma State in fourth.
Delta
State and West Florida wrap up the GSC
members in the poll. The Statesmen are
18th with UWF in 27th.
NCAA South Region member Lynn is ranked
sixth in the poll. Saint Joseph’s (Ind.)
College, who will join OBU this weekend
at Tartt Field, is ranked 25th.
West
Alabama returns to action on Wednesday,
Feb. 18, as UWA hosts Stillman College.
First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
