INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The 13th-ranked
University of West Alabama baseball team
dropped to the #3 spot in the NCAA Division
II South Central Region Poll, as released by
the NCAA.
Delta
State moved to the top spot for the first
time this season with Southern Arkansas
dropping back to second. Lone Star
Conference member Abilene Christian held the
fourth spot with Ouachita Baptist up a spot
in fifth and Angelo State in sixth. Valdosta
State and Southeastern Oklahoma State hold
the seventh and eighth spots, respectively.
Gulf South
Conference Tournament champion Delta State
and Lone Star Conference Tournament champion
Texas A&M at Kingsville have secured spots
in the South Central Regional, as automatic
bids. The remaining at-large slots are
awarded to the four, highest-ranked teams in
the region including five squads from the
Heartland Conference. The top-rated team is
eligible to host the four-day Tournament,
providing it placed a bid to host and have
adequate facilities and accommodations for
teams and fans.
