University of West
Alabama’s Rob
Dahlberg added
another laurel to
his impressive
resume as he was
named to the
Rawlings/American
Baseball Coaches
Association 2009
NCAA Division II
All-American Third
Team.
The accolade is his
second All-American
honor of the season,
as last week he
earned Daktronics
All-American honors.
Last season,
Dahlberg was named
All-American by
Rawlings/ABCA,
Daktronics and
Collegiate Baseball
Writers.
Dahlberg, a
Gilbertown,
Ala.-native,
concluded his
four-year career as
the school’s
all-time leader in
games played,
at-bats, runs, hits
and stolen bases and
is ranked in the top
five all-time in
seven additional
categories. Dahlberg
finished the
2009
season as the team
leader in hits with
81 and stolen bases
with 30 along with
being second on the
team in RBI with 60.
In his four seasons,
Dahlberg has been
named to the Gulf
South Conference
East Division First
Team three
consecutive seasons
and has received
all-conference
honors all four
years. He was the
2008 GSC East
Division Player of
the Year and 2006
GSC East Division
Freshman of the
Year.
Dahlberg was one of
six players from the
Gulf South
Conference named to
the 2009 Rawlings/ABCA
All-American Teams
and one of 10 from
the South Region.
