TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of West Alabama baseball team moved to 12^th in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Poll, as released by the publication Monday afternoon. UWA (42-9, 13-5 Gulf South Conference), which picked up five wins this past week, including a sweep of West Georgia, secured the #2 seed from the GSC East Division.

Mount Olive (49-5) remains the top team in the poll, followed by Delta State (40-8) in second. Tampa (36-8-1) stayed in third with Abilene Christian (40-13) moving up six spots to fourth and Sonoma State (39-9) in fifth.

Other notables from the GSC are Southern Arkansas (41-8) down to seventh with Valdosta State (34-16) one spot ahead of UWA in 11^th. Ouachita Baptist rounds out the conference schools in the poll, moving up to 22^nd with Montevallo receiving votes.

West Alabama concludes the regular season on Wednesday, April 30, as the Tigers travel to Stillman for a mid-week doubleheader. First pitch of the contest is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
