Burgess was selected
to the Annual Valley
Baseball League
All-Star game to be
hosted by the
Woodstock River
Bandits on July 12
at Central High
School in Woodstock.
Burgess, a
Huntsville,
Ala.-native, is one
of five players
chosen from the New
Market Rebels squad
for the All-Star
game. Burgess is
currently tied for
third on the team in
appearances with 11
and has recorded a
0.00 ERA. He has
posted 1-0 record
with six saves in 16
2/3 innings pitched
while striking out
22 of the
opposition’s
batters. The six
saves ranks second
in the league.
Burgess is a
two-time All-Gulf
South Conference
Second Team
selection.
