LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The 20th-ranked
University of West Alabama baseball team
travels to Montgomery, Ala. on Wednesday,
April 2, as the Tigers (29-8, 5-4 Gulf South
Conference) face Auburn Montgomery for a
mid-week contest. First pitch is scheduled
for 5:00 p.m. at the AUM Baseball Complex.
UWA, which
finished last week with a 3-3 record, will
meet the Senators (28-11) for the 48th
time in the series, which began in 1987. The
Senators hold the all-time advantage between
the two schools with a 28-19 mark.
The
Tigers, who enter the contest after being
swept at Valdosta State in GSC action over
the weekend, have claimed seven of the last
10 meetings against AUM, including four
consecutive. The last meeting came earlier
this season, as the Tigers blanked the
Senators 4-0 at Tartt Field.
AUM, which
is scheduled to host Tuskegee in a
doubleheader on Tuesday, is currently riding
a three-game win streak after sweeping
Reinhardt College over the weekend in
Southern States Athletic Conference action.
West Alabama returns to conference play on
Saturday, April 5, as the Tigers host West
Florida in a three-game series. First pitch
of Saturday’s doubleheader is scheduled for
4:00 p.m. with Sunday’s finale scheduled for
1:00 p.m. The games will be carried on
Y-104.9-FM and athletics.uwa.edu.
