LIVINGSTON, Ala. –
The University of West Alabama announced Tuesday, Jan. 9 that 31
student-athletes and 18 student-athletes received honors on the Deans and
President’s List.
Baseball and Football combined for 19 on the Deans
List. Earning honors from baseball were Clint Bonner, Clint Brown, Brent
Bumgarner, Corey Coward, Brady Dundon, Phillip Merryman, Todd Rea, Jonathan
Sherrill, Brent Telano and Clark Humber. For football, Jonathan Wright, Wil
Vickery, Luke Utsey, Marquis Sullivan, Daniel Smith, Eric McCants, James
Gardner, Terrance Campbell and Larry Jones all received honors.
Volleyball and tennis had four student-athletes on the
Deans List. Teresa Clements, Amanda Morgan, Morgan Ivey and Rafella Maranhao,
while earning honors on tennis were Erick Duran, Carlin Tight, Adanys Clerch
and Rama Siby. Joining the Deans List from women’s basketball was Kotreece
Bender. The men's cross country had two runners on the list with Alex Brown, Jeremy Wilson,
while
Debbie Shisler, of the women's cross country team, received the honor.
Eighteen student-athletes were named to the President’s
List, with five coming from tennis. Earning honors were Mylan Anderson,
Denton Meintjes, Michael Garcia, Amy Cole and Amy Frazier. Brett Ricketts,
R.J. Miller and Kyle Moore were named from the baseball team.
Two from softball, volleyball, cross country and football were
selected to the presidents. Earning honors were Laura Bagwell and Krista
Merrifield from softball, while Becky Helms and Brittany Cousin earned from
volleyball and selected from football were Mitch Warfield and Steven Davis.
The men's cross country team added Randy Putman and Craig Warlick to the list. Joining the President’s List from women’s basketball was Amber Walker
and Ashton Washington.
