UWA Softball To Host Camp                    The University of West Alabama will host a fastpitch softball camp on June 16-19 at the UWA Softball Complex for girls ages 5-18.  UWA head coach Will Atkinson and his staff will direct the camp on the Livingston campus. More

#13 Tigers Third in Region Rankings   The 13th-ranked University of West Alabama baseball team dropped to the #3 spot in the NCAA Division II South Central Region Poll, as released by the NCAA. More

 

Pruitt Gym Floor Gets Facelift         The University of West Alabama’s Pruitt Hall will feature a new floor for the 2008-09 athletic year, Director of Athletics E. J. Brophy announced on Wednesday.  The new hardwood will feature the extra large scripting of “TIGERS” at the midcourt area along with red baselines and boundaries.  The floor was designed and will be installed by AGF Incorporated of Birmingham, Ala. More

 

#13 UWA Falls to Blazers The 13th-ranked University of West Alabama baseball was eliminated from the 2008 Gulf South Conference Baseball Tournament, as the Tigers (45-11) dropped a 5-1 decision to #11 Valdosta State on Monday afternoon. More

#12 UWA Eliminates UNA  A career pitching performance from Brandon Dill and a seven run, seventh inning led the 12th-ranked University of West Alabama baseball team to a 11-5 victory over North Alabama in the 2008 Gulf South Conference Baseball Tournament. The double digit win, the 24th of the season, eliminated the Lions from the tournament. More

 
 
 

#12 UWA Falls to #22 OBU Mike Schmitt’s career-high, 13 strikeout performance wasn’t enough as the 12th-ranked University of West Alabama baseball team fell to 22nd-ranked Ouachita Baptist 7-1 in the late game of the 2008 Gulf South Conference Baseball Tournament. UWA (44-10) will face North Alabama on Sunday, May 4, in an elimination game at 4:15 p.m. More
